ML for Products or Business

You may have heard about how Machine Learning/AI is revolutionizing the software space. Almost every business has an online presence , and the first businesses to successfully leverage Machine Learning before their competitors will have a huge competitive advantage. What I aim to do with this subscription is to help businesses and project leaders the software guidance as well as the high-level ideas to give their product a strong competitive advantage, and then help them deploy these Machine Learning products to their website or software. You can also approach this course to give you those insights, even if you don't want to apply it at a job

What I do not want to do is mislead people into thinking Machine Learning can and should be used for every problem they see. This is one of the most common mistakes in the industry, and is one typically made by PM's in tech that do not fully understand the current state of Machine Learning/Computer Vision. Some examples of these common scams include things like stock price prediction, and other get rich quick schemes. 

Here are some examples of things that can provide immense business value and a strong competitive advantage:

- Hotels using Machine Learning to predict the optimal rate for their rooms given a set of local upcoming events and competitors rates

- Sentiment extraction from what people are saying about your product online

- Counting people/products in your business/storefront

- Live chat bot to automate simple questions

- Tabular data with classification to group or classify customers

I'm a Machine Learning focused engineer at a top tier tech company who has spent almost all of his time working on software that provides business value. Unlike other software engineers, I only work on projects that I know are economically net positive. Its a philosophy I've had my whole life. When I was 16 I built a website for a hotel that generates ~$48,000 a year.
